Xingyiquan

Xingyi (or xingyiquan, "hsing-i-chuan") belongs, along with taiji and bagua, to the family of Chinese internal martial arts and is the oldest of these three. Xingyi can also be characterized as the simplest and most aggressive. The training methods of xingyi are simple - the main ones being the standing exercises, the five element and twelve animal technique drills, forms composed of these techniques and pair training. The purpose of the exercises is to unite the mind and body to generate the powers used in fighting and to learn the actual fighting techniques. Xingyi also has forms for traditional Chinese weapons.
