Master Lü Baochun’s Easter Taiji Camp
29.3.-1.4.2013
Cornerstones of Taiji
Organizer: Baji Association Finland
http://www.baji.info/
Master Lü’s Taiji camp is open to all practitioners regardless of style and skill. The forms that will be used as tools for this camp will be of the Chen and Yang style. Furthermore, tuishou (pair training) will be an integral part of the training. The aim of the camp is to go deeper into the understanding of Taiji’s internal aspects from the foundation of each individual. Also, Master Lü strives to impart knowledge of Taiji’s inner workings and instill an honest and critical attitude towards one’s practice. Therefore, If you have thoughts and questions on subjects like “Why is form training important?”, “How do I find depth in form practice after I remember the form?”, “Why should I do push-hands?”, “How do I know I am making progress in my Taiji training?”, “What is internal structure and how will I find it?” and “What is internal power?”, then this camp is definitely for you. However, if your questions did not appear above then you are very welcome to the camp so you can ask them for yourself. Master Lü emphasizes the importance of questions, training and understanding in his classes. His good command of English and warm demeanor make his style of teaching both accessible and profound.
There is a very good chance that our Easter Camp will provide you with a fresh perspective for your future Taiji training, regardless of whether you have only recently begun practicing or have already trained for years. Finally, Baji Association hopes to build relations with all martial arts groups and practitioners from around the world and give them the chance to train with Master Lü.
Master Lü Baochun practices mainly Chen and Yang style Taiji. He started training Chen style under Grand Master Feng Zhiqiang in 1984. Master Lü is one of Grand Master Feng Zhiqiang’s first nine indoor students. Usually, when there was a challenge Grand Master Feng asked master Lü to take care of it. Thereon, in 1996 he was invited to practice Yang style together with Grand Master Wei Shuren. Master Lü learned internal power from Grand Master Wei Shuren, how to find it, how to use it and especially how to teach it. He is Grand Master Wei Shuren’s successor in China (excluding Taiwan).
The Easter Camp lasts 4 days starting on Friday at 12 o’clock and ending on Monday at 15 o’clock. There is approximately 24 hours of training in total (see schedule). Each morning begins with an hour of Qigong exercises. There is no need for previous knowledge of Qigong to be able to participate. The rest of the day will be spent training the inner aspects of Taiji. All practitioners are encouraged to ask personal questions about their own Taiji training. Room and board is also included in the price (see detail). The camp is held at Kisakallio, a sports training facility 50km from Helsinki.
Daily Schedule:
Taiji training will include Chen and Yang style form training as tools for learning. Tuishou will also be an integral part of these classes.

Bajiquan combat application seminar
Baji's main tactic in fighting is getting close to the opponent as fast as possible. In close-range a baji fighter will try to finish the fight quickly with strong explosive techniques. The pourpose of this seminar is to train these tactics through the applications found in the baji system.
Equipment: Indoor shoes, loose clothes that are comfortable to move in. If you want to practice with some contact you can bring sparring gear (gloves, mouthguard, helmet), not mandatory.
Bajiquan power generation training seminar
Baji is famous for its usage of explosive power in close range. This power is developed through form and single movement training typical for Baji. The movements and forms give the practicioner a way to train the explosive whole body power needed for applications. In Chinese this power is called 'fa li'. In this seminar we practice the methods which develop this power.
